Since inception, Alex Merolli has provided steering and leadership to the CERTUS team by applying his prior experience in market research Becton Dickenson’s early R&D efforts with the core technology that powers the CERTUS system.  .  Mr. Merolli has 40 years of experience in the food and industrial biotechnology industries with a career focus on life sciences research, business development and marketing.   Mr. Merolli worked as the Marketing Director of Food at Genencor International and for 11 years as the Director of Technical Service at Pillsbury Company.  At present he is an independent consultant specializing in strategic market assessments of emerging technologies with concentration in the dietary supplement, functional food, food safety and industrial biotechnology categories. A founding member of Nutri+Food Business Consultants, Mr. Merolli works at the interface of science and business.  Mr. Merolli earned his Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition Science at Penn State University and his Master of Business Administration in Marketing Management at Iona College.
